Note that PROVISIONING_PROFILE_SPECIFIER should not have a value associated with it. You can now open the NetNewsWire.xccodeproj in Xcode. Now you should be able to build without code signing errors and without modifying the NetNewsWire Xcode project. This is a special build of NetNewsWire with some functionality disabled. This is because we have API keys that can't be stored in the repository or shared between developers. Certain account types, like Feedly, aren't enabled and the Reader View isn't enabled because of this. If you have any problems, we will help you out in Slack ( see above). Raised as new partly because of the identity of the feed I was having trouble adding, and because it was my very first experience of the app, so potentially an onboarding issue? NNW 5.1 (3007) for Mac (Big Sur public beta), just downloaded for the first time today because of the new Feedly support, as I've been using Feedly since Google Reader was taken from us, and didn't want to stop (because I also use it on linux/windows). I noted the "On My Mac" subscriptions on first load, but because I was importing Feedly, I was going to disable that account. (That's all the information given in the error dialog.) But of the subscriptions in it, one I wanted to add to Feedly was of course the one for NetNewsWire itself, to see future blog/announcements about the app.įirst thing I tried was to just drag it into the appropriate Feedly folder in the app. Tried copying the feed URL and going to add-feed: "Not found". Tried copying the home page URL and going to add-feed: "Not found". Tried it pasting that url from the browser url bar instead of as offered by the app. Tried opening Firefox (I've only been trying Safari as default browser during Big Sur public beta), going to the blog homepage site, and clicking on the "Add to Feedly" extension I already have installed on Firefox, added the feed in Feedly. (SwiftKey made a brief appearance but after twice losing my notes went to the app bin.) If Vesper ever gets sync sorted then I might return, especially if it goes for Evernote or perhaps a plain text thing with Dropbox - but that would kill the photo capability - but it needs to do something. This is the first feed I tried to add to the Feedly account from within NNW rather than its own web-based UI. So now I have gone back to Evernote as a synchronised notebook on my Mac with speedy plain text entry on my iOS devices going through EverMemo. Like my paper meeting notebook at work which has EVERYTHING in it, I need a single repository to search through. I don’t want to look in many different places for information. Gone from my Mac are plain text files and Notational Velocity too. Killing off apps such as Vesper, SimpleNote, SwiftKey and even the default Notes app which held all the snippets of info I jotted down. I’ve spent the last few weeks simplifying my workload and thanks to a new app that works as a rapid entry front end for Evernote, I am It’s a gorgeous looking app from some industry luminaries….but as lovely looking as this app is, I cannot bring myself to use it full time due to the lack of sync.
